Golang Job: Platform Engineer

Platform Engineer – Outside IR35 – 6 Months - Fully Remote up to £800/day

Heavily invested media scale up are looking for a DevOps engineer to join their UK R+D team. Working within their cloud team you will be working to continue to develop their cloud operations.

• 
  Moving our EC2 hosted applications to containers and Kubernetes as part of a product team
• Working with other platform engineers to build patterns and systems to support products
• Help improve platform and system observability via our Grafana, Tempo, Loki and

Prometheus stack

• Working as part of an autonomous, self-organising platform team
• Provide operational support for a large cloud-based distributed system

• Daily rate up to £800/day Outside IR35
• 6 Month Contract
• Option to go permanent at the end

About you:

• Autonomous and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal guidance
• Write clean well composed and tested infrastructure as code
• Believe in CD and patterns such as GitOps
• Apply DevOps and SRE principles whilst working in platform and product teams

Experience:

• Experience with cluster orchestration (Kubernetes, ECS, Nomad)
• Proficiency with Golang, Python OR any other programming language
• Familiarity with GitOps tooling such as Flux2 or ArgoCD
• Experience with advanced monitoring systems
• Experience with telemetry systems such as OpenTelemetry, Tempo, ZipKin, Jaeger, Datalog
• Experience with Terraform
• Significant exposure to cloud systems, preferably AWS
• Experience with any modern reverse proxies/ meshes powered by them (Istio, Envoy, Gloo)
